Bonus/extra credit/count total points
Added by Devin Casenhiser about 11 years ago
What's the best way to include bonus or extra credit questions? Getting the question correct should increase the count of the number correct, but NOT increase the total number of possible items in the exam.
I suppose I can edit the "maximal mark" box in preferences/project and just subtract the number of points the extra credit items are worth (assuming scoring is adjusted for the bonus questions so that it doesn't penalize for incorrect answers). Is that my best bet?
On a related question -- will AMC compute the number of points an exam is worth prior to marking it?
Cheers!

If you add MAX=0
to the question's scoring, AMC will mark the question and assume that the max score that can be reached for this question is 0. So you will have "0/0", "1/0"... marks. I think this is what you need (except the "1/0" that will look strange on the annotated answer sheet).

The scores and max score are computed at the same time.

That'll work. Thanks!
