1. Syntax highlighting for AMC-txt

Hi all, I would like to have syntax highlighting in my text editor for the AMC-txt quation format.
I have looked for it, but I assume that there is no such thing yet?

I am considering writing my own. Please let me know if someone already did this or if there is work in progress

I use xed since I am on Mint, while many Ubuntu users use Gedit. Both of these seem to use a component called
gtksourceview for highlighting. Many examples are collected here:
