Added by Thorsten Grothe almost 5 years ago

Hello,

I want to change from xsim which I used for a long time to AMC for several reasons.
I got many exercises in my exams with this structure for example:

Exercise
Assign the correct numbers to the following examples. Use

1. for the first case
2. tor the second case
3. for the third case
....

a) _ here comes some text
b)
here comes some text
c) _
_ here comes some text
...

Sorry, my fault I was to fast here comes to solution

Solution
Assign the correct numbers to the following examples. Use

1. for the first case
2. tor the second case
3. for the third case
....

a) 1 here comes some text
b) 2 here comes some text
c) 3 here comes some text
...

As you can see the students must fill in the correct numbers into to empty fields. To make it clearer I attache a screenshot with solutions displayed. For the test the solutions are not displayed of course.

I'm not sure if this would be possible with AMC?

Thanks for your help!

I think that for your example, you should use the standard way:

Tick the correct sentences:
1) ....
2) ....
3) ....

Thanks for the fast response Alexis!

For my first example (2 possibilities) I agree that the standard way works fine. But what when we have more options? In my new example the students have to choose between 6 possibilities and fill in the correct number.

Please see my attached example.

Thank you!

Hi,

When I have to transpose matching type questions (which are easy to use on a computer) into AMC, I split then into as many different questions, all with the same, shuffled answer choices. Correct answer being different for each question. Example:

1. Number like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 are...
a) Odd numbers
b) even numbers
c) prime numbers
d) complex numbers

2. Numbers like 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 are...
a) Odd numbers
b) even numbers
c) prime numbers
d) complex numbers

3. Numbers like 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 are..
a) Odd numbers
b) even numbers
c) prime numbers
d) complex numbers
...

I usually shuffle questions an answers and either group them together or shuffle them with the rest of the questions and here you go.

Hope this answers your question.

@Gregory this is working, thank you very much. I like my version more because you have everything together but I can live with that!
