Move header text
Added by Matthew Leingang over 9 years ago
When annotating papers, is there a way to have the header text in a different corner than the top left? My document has a logo in the top left corner and the header is overlapping it.
Alternatively, an option to move the header text down a bit would also keep it from overlapping.
Any advice is welcome.

The header position is fixed. Maybe you can begin the header text with several blank lines to move it down.

Moving the header down is a good workaround. Thanks!

I finally had a chance to test this workaround, and unfortunately it doesn't work.
Extra whitespace is removed before placing the header on the page. So simply inserting blank lines doesn't have any effect. I tried a number of other workarounds. I added some TeX code to insert vertical space, but it was copied verbatim to the header. I add a column "blank" to the student list where each entry was a single space, then inserted %(blank)
into the header. That whitespace was stripped too.
In the end I inserted some lines with a single |
character. That makes a mark on the page but at least moves the header down below the logo.
Can this be considered as a feature request?

Sure. I think a command like \namefield
should be available to define in the LaTeX source file where global annotations should take place.
