Single Choice Answers in a Multichoice Environment

Added by Adrian Lehrmann over 9 years ago

Good evening everyone,

since I am a new forum member, I would like to greet everyone in the first place. Thanks for all of you for working on such a helpful project!

I started using AMC several month ago and then paused for a while. Recently I was taking a look again and I stumbled across the following question:

In Germany, there have been several judgements regarding the grading of multiple choice tests. To make a long story short: It is recommended to give the option to answer "Yes" or "No" to every single possible solution to a multiple choice question (see the following example, I'm not sure if I anyone can understand what I mean):

Which politician was part of the Brandt administration?
Yes No
☐ ☐ Karl Schiller
☐ ☐ Herbert Wehner
☐ ☐ Rainer Barzel
☐ ☐ Georg Leber
☐ ☐ Erich Mende

instead of

Which politician was part of the Brandt administration?
☐ Karl Schiller
☐ Herbert Wehner
☐ Rainer Barzel
☐ Georg Leber
☐ Erich Mende

In the first example, every answer can be graded like a single choice question (1 Point or 0 points). My first thought on this topic was to somehow "cloak" several single choice questions in a choicemult environment, but I'm pretty sure this will not work, especially regarding the shuffeling of the answers etc.

I would be glad if someone could post his thoughts on this topic. Is this even possible in AMC?

Thank you in advance for your answers and kind regard

Adrian
